Generator Amsterdam is a brand new designer hostel located in the east of Amsterdam near De Pijp. It was a former zoological building and is based in Oosterpark. Free WiFi is available throughout the property.
The former lecture hall has been transformed into a lounge and bar. There is also a dining space and a secret bar in the former boiler room.
Each room features air conditioning, bed linen and a private bathroom with shower. The Generator Amsterdam also includes premium rooms.
Breakfast is available every morning in the onsite café. As well as lunch and dinner. There is a 24-hour front desk.
The hostel also offers bike hire. Rembrandtplein is 1.6 km from Generator Amsterdam, while Heineken Experience is 1.8 km away. The nearest airport is Schiphol Airport, 12 km from Generator Amsterdam.

ACCESSIBILITY: Please note that some Family Quadruple Rooms (Quadruple Room with 2 Single Beds and 1 Bunk Bed with Private Bathroom) are wheelchair accessible. Please contact the hostel for more information. Please note that not all rooms are wheelchair accessible. Please inform the property via the Special Requests box during reservation.
AGE RESTRICTIONS: Please note that guest between 16 and 18 years old can stay at the hostel if parental consent is provided.
AMENITIES: Towels are only included in the Twin rooms, Premium double rooms and SkySuite, for other rooms towels can be rented on site for a supplement of EUR 5. Alternatively, guests can bring their own.
PET POLICY: We would welcome a dog on property but only when staying in a private room, and subject to a fee per dog per Stay. Only Dog under 75lbs./ 34kg.
Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

Sheets are included. Towels are included in superior private rooms. We rent them in the reception if needed.
Hi, would it be possible for 2 17 year olds to stay here for 1 night without an adult, but with written permission from the parents?
Yes, that's possible! A parental consent form can be found on our own site, together with our age policy.
Have you late checkout option?
Yes we do indeed have late check-out options! For beds in a shared dorm it's 7 euros per bed and for private rooms it's 20 euros. With the late check-out you can stay in the room until 1pm instead of 10am. Great choice for sleepy heads!
Hello! Is there space for leaving big luggage on a safe place ? Like a big locker or something ?

You can surely leave your luggage with us. We have a luggage room and paid lockers! Prices for lockers are: Small: 1hs x 1.00 EU // 6hs x 3 EU // 24hs x 5 EU Big: 1h x 2 EU // 6hs x 6 EU // 24hs x 8 EU

The lockers in you room need a padlock. We sell them herein case you need one.

Hi! Because of Covid measurements, we indeed have a maximum of 2 guests in the 4-bed dorms. This is only if they are from different households. Same households can share a room with 4!

No, you cannot be sure. If you want to be absolutely certain that you are all in the same room, you need to book a full 4-person dorm, not separate beds.
